Kase Revolution Ring Video Kit
Control your exposure and soften the look, on whichever lens you’re shooting with.
The Kase Revolution Ring Video Kit is put together for filmmakers and hybrid shooters. A variable ND with a built-in polariser lets you keep the right shutter speed and aperture as the light changes. The Black Mist filter takes the edge off digital sharpness for a more filmic image. Both attach magnetically to the adjustable Kase Revolution Ring, so the same filters move between lenses of different sizes.
How it works
Squeeze the clamping blocks on the Revolution Ring, place it on the front of the lens and let go. Four sliding latches move out to engage with the lens filter thread, holding the ring securely and evenly. The inlaid ring screws into the front of the Revolution Ring and gives you a magnetic mount for the filters and the pinch lens cap.
Which lenses does it fit?
The 82mm kit includes the 67-82mm Revolution Ring. That covers lenses with filter threads from 67mm to 82mm, and the filters are 82mm to match the ring’s front thread. The 67-82mm ring also works with the Kase Armour Magnetic Square Filter Holder, if you want to add square filters later.
The filters
- VND & CPL 1.5-5 stop: combines a variable ND and a circular polariser in one filter. Rotate it to set anywhere from 1.5 to 5 stops of light reduction, so you can hold a cinematic shutter speed or shoot wide open in bright conditions. The polariser cuts reflections and glare at the same time.
- Black Mist 1/4: gently softens highlights and adds a subtle glow around light sources, reducing the harsh, clinical look of modern sensors. The 1/4 strength is a light touch that works well as an everyday setting for video and portraits.
The filters stack magnetically, so you can run the Black Mist and VND together.
Both use KW optical glass with Kase’s ultra-low reflectivity coating (0.1% reflectivity) to reduce glare and ghosting, and they are waterproof, anti-oil, anti-scratch (8H+ hardness), anti-mildew and impact-resistant.
