Proposed Workshop Itinerary – Subject to Conditions

Vereley & Oakley Focus

Sunrise

  • Vereley Inclosure – atmospheric ancient beeches and oaks, perfect for misty morning light and woodland compositions.
  • Guided session on using light direction, layering, and foreground interest in woodland.

Mid-Morning

  • Move to Oakley Inclosure – different structure of trees and paths, good contrast to Vereley.
  • Coffee/snack break, with focus on simplifying woodland chaos and identifying natural leading lines.

Lunch

  • Picnic in the forest or local café in Burley.

Afternoon

  • Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary area – mix of high canopy woodland and the chance of spotting deer.
  • Teaching: wildlife settings, patience in forest light.

Golden Hour/Sunset

End-of-day recap, optional editing demo if time/space allows.

Rhinefield Ornamental Drive – grand avenues, giant redwoods, late light streaking through.
