Rod Ireland – “A Life in the Year of Covid-19”

A documentary book thanking the NHS and raising money for ‘NHS Charities Together’.

Local photographer Rod Ireland has launched a new book to coincide with the first anniversary of the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.  The documentary style images were mainly taken in Cumbria and reflect the times and places Rod passed through whilst going about his daily life from the first lockdown.

Despite primarily being a landscape photographer, Rod used photography to document what he saw and to record his experiences. Rod says that,

“despite people’s hardships, a sense of public spirit was palpable as I observed others go about their lives. Most humbling though was an awareness of the huge number of people in our communities making heroic efforts to keep us safe & healthy”.

It was this that encouraged him to bring the images together in a book to say thank you to those people in the NHS who have worked tirelessly to help look after us and to raise money for ‘NHS Charities together’. All profits from the book will be donated to the charity.

Support Rod in raising money for the NHS Charities.
